I’ve got a Commencal Meta in my garage where you can actually feel the differences in the seat tube, I don’t think this method would work. My only option when I can be bothered is the hacksaw blade down the inside.

I don’t know why anyone would sell by auction anyway, as said on here the other week, they often have 80% off fees for buy it now, they’re doing it this weekend, just list as buy it now with best offer. You mostly get to choose who you sell it to this way and judge its value based on the offers.

So if our suspicions are correct the guy is committing fraud regularly just to save a few pence. There are better ways to sell on eBay.

Are the bb’s themselves ok? As in bearings are smooth with no play?

Exactly - it didn’t grow in there. Edit - pressing one out can be harder due to any galvanic corrosion etc plus the crown is tricky to support, but pressing one in is a lot easier - you just need a press.

Can you try a different headset first?

I guess from looking at the state of the rest of it including that one-piece crank, that the front wheel has been swapped for something non-original, good how it’s only held on with one nut too.

That’s correct. That’s the grade of aluminium alloy used to make the frame.

Are you certain that it’s a lawnmower engine? Looks more like an air compressor engine to me.
