The current trend for fat tyres is due to one thing in my opinion, modern carbon fibre being so uncomfortable to ride. Back in the day anyone turning up with fat tyres would be laughed at. Anything more than 25 just looks awful.

Has anyone here ever used cranks longer than 170mm? Maybe some of the testers here? If so what was your experience of them? Indurain used 180's I think. I've seen pics here of some with the L shaped cranks, what were they like to ride? I'm just curious.

Yes, it means chaos for their preparation for the season. But maybe from our point of view that's a good thing. Don't forget Van Aert also out. Pogacar will be watching his step I imagine, and as for Van Der Poel he's always out of harm's way off the front! Hope they all recover soon.
