I was out of the country 3 months when this Attitude popped up on FB back home. I had my dad go look at it and I purchased it without even seeing it myself lol.
I had one just like it 35 years ago, same size and everything. But this one has had a few late-90s modifications I'd like to...
Yeah I recently learned that it is common for autobody shops in the US, and even auto parts stores, to offer custom paint color mixing services putting it right into a DIY spray cans. I plan to have this spray paint made to repaint the MC1 bar-stem unit I need to paint matched to an Attitude I...
The Girvin fork is remarkable. I don't recall ever seeing one back in the day, but I remember the Girvin stems. It was all Mag21 as soon as they came out around 1993 ish.
The bike of course is drool worthy, and I like how the exotic looking fork pairs with the exotic Pulse, more interesting...
I did not know about the Adept! A 29er Klein in the early 90s? Was it meant for like very buff trail riding and gravel or full on XC racer?
And yeah I was a XC racer 30-40 years ago and XC racers were fairly buff trails back then compared to today, though I only raced in the midwest. I owned...
Thanks for the offer but that one won't integrate with the Klein seat bolt system. I ordered one of the Surly hangers which fit in the slot in the middle of the bolt.
Curiously Klein spec'd Dia Compe rear cantilevers (but XT front) on some of those early Attitudes to improve heal clearance...
yes I ordered one of those hangers and I have already bought a full set of m730 cantilevers, but I fear it will put the cable at a sharp angle. V brake would solve that, though V brakes are from 1996-on iirc.
another very pretty one!
hey hmm the V brake does not use the seat stay bridge cable guide. On a 91 Attitude I just bought it appears someone sawed off the bridge to make room for Magura brakes I will want to replace with period XT cantis. But maybe I should just put an earliest version Avid...
That is a very pretty bike. And the crank spider I have never seen before! I had no idea Syncros made a crankset. calipers are a nice touch too, all really well contrasted to this frame colour. Kleins can be utterly gorgeous - dare I say it more than any other mass produced brand of MTB.
yes, sorry. I will start a new thread in March when I return to BC and can take some detailed photos. I'm just getting ahead of it now ordering the items I will need to get it looking close to (but not quite) OEM spec. So excited! I have been searching on and off 5 years for an Atti to buy.
hey that might be much cleaner than a booster, thanks JCS. then it could eliminate the need to install a new house end stop in the frame entry, just use housing right to the back. thanks!
OK I just realized a potentially expensive disappointing problem with the bike I just bought. I appears by the pictures that they sawed off the rear brake cable bridge to make room for the Magura brakes setup! wow. just wow. I am changing it back to cable brakes and that becomes problematic...
yeah my dad says he has a local bike painter who might be able, but I have used DeKerf in Richmond before and they are ace at reproducing colours. Or I just order an OEM green one on ebay lol.
Very pretty early Attitude. In BC too!
I was surfing FB 4 days ago and found an Attitude came up for sale in Victoria, listed for a couple weeks before I saw it. I contacted them even though I am out of the country until March. Got my dad to go inspect it. Bought it!
It's the 91 Dolomite...
