    A ride I have often thought about having done the pass a couple of times in a round trip from Pandy but my fitness is completely shot and it's my wedding anniversary weekend to boot and we are away! Ah well - I'll dream on!

    Your favourite bike tool.

    My real favourite is a Park tools gadget for springing apart a joining link on a chain, Plus I have a fat green plastic tyre lever that works a treat and even helps lever on a tight tyre when all else fails!

    Good to see people this weekend. Like Russell not taking part this year but supporting team of son and friends riding modern (!) Mehanicals, driving rain etc sapped their enthusiasm to the point that we packed up and left early......never mind .......always another year!

    Steady rain here much of the day but local forecast on the box suggested that it would be dry tomorrow afternoon and much of Saturday - wet Saturday night and Sunday though!
