Coed-y-brenin enduro and retrobike event 30-1/10/17

Re: Does anyone know what time the Saturday retro race is? Only I've found out last week I have to be in Brighton on the Saturday, and may have to stop over. An afternoon start would be good!

Unofficially it should be fine to sleep over in a van in the car park, especially if you park out of the way a bit in the overflow.

Count me in for this one too - I'm sure I can make the 15 mile journey to it

Dave Yates Diabolo - British steel 🇬🇧

Re: Dave Yates Diabolo Are they new decals? I'd like to get mine resprayed at some point, but it would be nice to get some original decals for it (which appear to be under the lacquer).

Don't you just hate it when this happens.....

Does it have to be Gripshift? I have some Sachs twist shifters; pretty sure they're 7 speed.

day in the peaks 2 .......sunday 6/11/16 the autumn edition

Well, I made it back in time to treat SWMBO to a steak (my ticket to a day away) so have brownie points for that :-) Took me about 2 hours of driving until the chill left my bones though, not helped by going over the handlebars into a puddle on the last descent! I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and...

It's a bit spur of the moment late notice and all that, but is it OK if a tatty Diablo (and equally scruffy rider) joins you tomorrow? And is there bonus points for a car as old as the bike?

    Boring old handle bar grips.

I've just put a new set of Grab-Ons on mine, after always using them back in the day. Used Ritchey WCS for a while but not as good, then I found that you could still get MTN-1s: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/handlebar-t ... r-sleeves/ I preferred the hexagonal MTN-2s, but not found any new ones...

25 years of Coed y Brenin - FAT TYRE REVOLUTION

Re: Thanks for the welcome and the bigging me up! To be fair though, I did have a few things on my side - I had an early start on the time trial so didn't get stuck behind anyone, plus I'm fairly local so have ridden parts of the route before, although not the Slab. Plus I'm kind of 'familiar'...

Re: I've just found this thread, and thought I'd pop up and say hello! It was great to see the older bikes doing what they were made to do, so hopeful there will be more such events in the future. I really like the photo someone took of me on the descent, which was completed more by sheer luck...

    NWA: Llandegla - 10/10/09 AFTERMATH!!!

I think you'll find that it can be guaranteed to be peeing it down in the depths of Wales! Oh, hang on a minute, I think there was a day in June that it didn't rain...

    NWA: Llandegla - 10/10/09 AFTERMATH!!!

Thanks for the welcome! :D I will have to get a few photos up at some point, although it's not much to look at really - after I washed it yesterday I realised how much paint is missing...fortunately red hammerite is a reasonable match... Agreed. Although as most of the blokes were without...

    NWA: Llandegla - 10/10/09 AFTERMATH!!!

That would be me... :) I had a thoroughly good day out - was made to feel very welcome and found that there are other people like me who resist the march of technology. Oh, and that burger was worth the wait! I mentioned on the ride that I had an amusing accident caught on camera - hereit...
