    I can't figure out the organization of the Retro MTB Forum – it's splintered by brands and minor topics that haven't aged well. I was looking for one thread with owner's bikes, regardless of brand, with anecdotes about customization and the places they ride.

    I've been riding MTB's since the late 80's. I recently inherited a modern hard tail, which is terrific, but I still like the simplicity of old-school steel bikes. Here's my CroMo Gary Fisher Tarpon, all stock.

    I don't understand how this forum is organized. I don't see a Gary Fisher or a Schwinn thread. How is the word "link" being used here? There should be a basic thread along the lines of (all) retro MTB's. I don't want to look at just one brand at a time.

    Work bikes

    This is the 2000 Schwinn Frontier that I use for trips to the grocery store. It's 24" frame is a perfect fit. I don't like racks, so I use a backpack. After all these years, the tubes and tires are still original.

    90's Hybrid/Cross bike thread.

    Here's a few others that share the garage and workload with the Bianchi. They're quite similar, but different tires, riser handlebars and sprung saddles makes each a unique ride. I switched components between bikes until I found the perfect fit.
