Hi Mike
I posted on your FB listing but could I have the stem ?. If you want it all gone I'm happy to take it and pass the frame and forks on again. Thanks.
To answer your filler question I believe it does have to be a certain type for powder coating. Best to speak to your powder coater as I'm sure they would be able to advise you. I have read of people using JB Weld as a filler prior to powder but best to ask the experts.
Glad to help. I find oven cleaner works well to remove anodising. Just don't leave it on too long and test a spot at the bottom of the post first before you dive straight in :)

That pawl you mentioned with the tired spring. Spray it with WD or similar and move the pawl back and forth a bit, I use a bradl but something pointy like that will do. It's probably just gummed up and the lube and a good bit of wiggling normally gets them engaging again.
@oheyitsdrew Well this might be your lucky day. Can you guess what size it is ?.
Yep 20.5" centre to the top of seat tube and the top tube is 585mm center to centre. I couldn't find the Avenir saddle I mentioned but 90% sure I have one somewhere. Apart from that grips, tyres and groupset...
Leave it with me. It's hanging behind some other bikes and I've gone and injured myself. So if my sons in later I will get him to move the others and measure what size it is. I have a suspicion it might be a 19" but not sure.
What size frame are you after ?. I have a 1990 Apex which aside from the saddle to the best of my knowledge is otherwise all original. I do have an Avenir saddle I could include. I wasn't planning on selling but you know I could possiby have my arm twisted. I'm based in Farnborough/Hampshire...
Does this have a 1' or 1' 1/8 headtube. I only ask as I have a couple of spare pairs of the Tange switchblade forks that I believe would have originally been fitted. Those are both 1' so I could be intersted if the frame is also 1". Cheers
@rentedmule Chris King do indeed manufacture their own bearings. However if they are made to a standard size and spec I have no idea.
