How do you measure stem length? Is it centre to centre?

Mercian (the frame builders) sell specific cans of internal frame protectant. Alternatively use linseed oil from a diy shop.

I have a Campag 8 speed setup on my bike from about 97' which still runs great but the drivetrain needs replacing. Getting hold of a new 8 spd cassette does not seem too troublesome but Will current campag 9 speed derailluers work with this? I have heard that they use the same width of chain...
