    Project12 Vertigo

Not bad indeed, and there is room to improve on it too. I have picked my build with care, lightweight parts all approved for trail and/or Enduro use for 100+ kg riders. But most of it’s miles will be Cross Country in the Netherlands, and where I live brakes will not be overheating. I love for...

Thanks Mikey, I can't keep my eyes off it to be honest, but I did not weigh the frame. The full build as pictured is 12,5 kg (28 lbs) with pedals and 2.4" tires on 30mm rims Enjoy!!

    Project12 Vertigo

Warning not much Retro in this topic, except mabe the craft of the Dutch Fabricator Project12 Cycleworks https://projectxii.nl/en/. I am sharing this bike here as my love for steel was shaped by my time on Retrobike. Some of you may like this, YMMV. A few months ago I was pondering a new...

    1998 Santa Cruz Heckler

I have a 97 Heckler and have used it with 4-5 different forks, including Fox, RockShox, Pace and Marzocchi. Also using a Ritchey external cup headset, but all of them cleared the downtube. If you have a Chris King headset to swap in, they do a 3?mm extra high crown race in 1.1/8" which could...

    Show us yer rigids.ooer missus....

My comments is mostly on the fat front I rode for 2 years, 1 ride on the 29er front last Sunday. The Jones rides beautifully, balanced on the legs in a very different posture on the bike. The other standout characteristic is that it is very accomplished on technical sections, at least by my...

SOme really nice rides on here, and I have to admit I love the Pace RC200 roadie conversion. I mentioned the Jones Spaceframe which is the ultimate expression of one man's rigid bike philosophy. And then realised I did not actually show a picture of it. I've been fettling the Jones lately so...

Sorry lost count, that is an Off Spirit or OS Blackbuck, The Blackbuck us a project from Mark Slate one of the founders of WTB. Quite a special frame, sold it on here to member neebsta btw if you search there's more about it in the post 98 section. The rear stays are the signature fearure but...

** Ibis Tranny 29 XTR Carbon ENVE ** SOLD

Re: ** Ibis Tranny 29 XTR Carbon ENVE ** Nice, very nice, tempting too. And Reuben yes, there is a tensioning bolt just behind the bottom bracket covered by the chainring. You could google "slot machine" that's what Ibis have named their solution, the rear end comes off. Enjoy!!

    Can't find a 20mm maxle 29er wheel

Spot on, Do notice they have 5 types of front wheel in special offer and only 1 rear. My guess is they have been replacing a lot of rears under warranty. I'd check the even-ness of the spoke tension, and you'll be fine with a front. Happy trails

    Can't find a 20mm maxle 29er wheel

For that money you can't go wrong I'd say much, but google is your friend. For Easton wheels you would have found lot's of reasons they are on special offer a lot. There have been various issues with both racing and mountain wheels not holding up to normal use. The picture is patchy, not all...

Who is up on Hope BB/crank fettling ?

Re: Hmm when I adjust a front mech it is located relative to the rings only. So the BB should not feature at all in the equation. two ideas: If you have fitted rings from a different brand/model/year and not the rings made for the cranks you are using that can have a different thickness or...
