I went on my first proper road ride today. Proper meaning not a commute. Proper also meaning on my own so I could go at a pace that was totally comfortable for me. I am starting to get the hang of it now after getting into mountain biking about a year ago and not riding any other kind of bike...

Dad said to me that he'd give me this bike over his dead body. It's my absolute favourite of all his bikes. Dad having one bike is like me having one pair of shoes. Never going to happen, but you still have your favourites... Just like mum and her children/horses/not me and dad.

I'll get some bib shorts in that pattern the minute they're available. I think male thieves would fear they'd look gay on a purple and pink bike, so I reckon I'm at least 50% safe! And it'll be too big for most girls. Takes me up to at least 75% safe. Plus the noticeable thing. About 85% safe...

Neither of these are retro, but I've found both to be very good. I've got a Madison Breeze on my C16r which is essentially the same as the Charge Ladle. I'm soon to have one of these going spare if you want to borrow/buy it as I'm going to upgrade to a Fizik Vitesse. I ride one of these on my P7...
