How long is the steerer on the Manitous please?

The Internet was a disappointment! Old mountain bikes are more niche than we think! It is the original seat post that's stuck so it must be the right size. I have 3 spare 27.2s but no 27 so it might not be worth messing about with if I will need to buy a sestpost.

I have a 2001 Marin Bear Valley with a seized seat post. Assuming I can get it out, would anyone know for sure what size it is. The 1999 catalogue says 27mm, but my basic vernier caliper measures just over, so maybe 27.2mm.

Price reduded to £25 bump.

The forks were awful on this so they have been replaced with some rb sourced Kona Project 2s. It rides better now and looks better. It's not the lightest but it's OK. The gear hanger extender (ebay £3) does the job and allows the Sram Apex derailleur to handle the 11-36 10 speed cassette...

What a great looking bike. I have just finished (well in so much as they're ever finished) a conversion of a 26" wheeled mtb but I'd love to have a go at a 700c hybrid too. I've seen waay more reimagined retros that I like than new off the peg gravel bikes. Built not bought all the way!

1 1/8" threadless straight steerer aluminium forks. Approx 320mm axle to crown. 220mm steerer length. SFN and crown race fitted. Recessed Allen key brake fitting. Ideal replacement for iffy carbon fork. £30 posted.

How much would you be looking for, with post please?

I am after a rigid steel cro mo fork with cantilever bosses. Nothing too fancy as the frame isn't. Threaded or unthreaded is fine, threaded would need to be around 185mm, threadless 225mm. Axel to crown approx 380mm. Colour not that important, but black would be ideal. Thanks.

This never really had a place as it was. So I used all the bits, with a few additions, from my now departed Saracen "gravel" bike. It's not bad, not as nice a frame as the Saracen, but it fits better.

I am thinking of fitting rigid forks to my 2009 Gary Fisher, along with 27.5" wheels. I don't want to spend a lot and have seen plenty of aluminium ones on ebay for around £50. Has anyone tried them? Or can anyone suggest anything else inexpensive? I don't want carbon, need a disc mount and yes...

Out of curiosity, did you use a fork for 27.5" wheels or 26"?

What are those mudguards? They look good, most look as if they don't fit and or will fall off any minute.
