Mines currently the white and black wheel. Campagnolo confirm the conversion to gold and black was done in-house at ONCE. Best plan is to reproduce this in adobe illustrator and to get the wheel wrapped professionally by a car wrapping company.

The rebuild begins after sourcing a near mint condition Campagnolo Ghibli rear disc (now need to find the right colour gold to re-spray the disc)

The guy at Giant’s cycling innovation centre got word back from his European ‘Pro Team’ colleague (20-years in the role) who validated the bike. I have gone back to ask about the serial number…but as these were totally hand made / hand laid carbon fibre bikes just for the team…it may explain...

Okay, some more detailed photos of the Giant TImeTrial frame. What do you think, the ‘real deal’? One of ONCE’s Team frames? I am now on correspondence with Giant bikes in Taiwan and Europe to help identify the frame as it has no frame number.

1998 May have been a transitional years for ONCE as there are photos of Laurent Jalabert as French National Road Race Champion riding a Giant TCR for ONCE and he was national champion in 1998 not 1999, unless you wear it the year after you win it?

Yup, I found that and the one TT bike they have that looks nearly the same. Interesting the museum bike unlike those seen in action with the team has ONCE on the seat tube.

Very nice build. I’m embarking the the same build with a Shimano equipped donor bike, so your specifications are very useful, especially around Campagnolo wheels, which I wasn’t sure about. I did notice that your front forks don’t look correct???
