Oven cleaner will usually eat through colored anodizing, that is one way people strip parts to redo them or polish. Hard anodizing is another animal and the color is more a result of the process than a cosmetic thing, it is usually that dark gray color or a dull green.
I'm surprised the oven cleaner didn't at least eat the ano off the nipples if it was sprayed on there. The old school trick is super aggressive pads until the gray hard ano coating wears off, like something meant for Mavic ceramic rims, I've never really found it necessary. Messed around with...
It's basically just a dust cover, and they almost always crack on LX and XT. I keep wondering if someone will 3D print some.
The brakes function fine without them, but it leaves a weird lip sticking out. Somewhere I have an entire bin of XT/LX brakes with broken/missing caps. Even the ones...
Euro BB is just the BMX term for a standard english threaded BB. Just make sure you get the correct axle size. Probably 19mm, but they did 22mm oversized too. The axles come in a bunch of different lengths as well, I think it's generally the longest one they offer for a MTB.
I used a Hone derailleur and axle to fix a Stumpjumper with a hanger that was basically ripped off. The hub to steal the axle from was very hard to find, although the derailleurs were weirdly plentiful on ebay at the time.
Not sure if it would work without modification on all frames. The M2...
There was a kit ten years ago or more that was just sections of heavy duty hose. The outer diameter was much smaller than stock, but the ID was the same. Looked a little odd, but was very easy to install and worked well. You could see the remnants of pressure ratings on the outside of the...
Brakes look like they might still have the rollers that tend to fail. You can still find the brass replacements pretty cheap.

Never had a pair of the M950 brakes, but very similar from the pictures I looked at. Very small head on the bolt to clear the linkage, and also a very small washer that is easy to loose. The little shoulder is the important part on the M750 though. The shoulder locates the arm as it doesn't...
The LX brakes have a metal back plate sorta thing where the spring comes out. In my experience they don't ever get exploding spring housing syndrome like cheaper Shimano brakes. The Acera are better than the truly cheap models for sure, but I think I've seen some issues with those.
The plastic...
If it has the pinch bolt crown it is that easy. The only real complication is a 1" steerer will have a separate shim you have to reuse. The steerer can be tight fitting, I've had to give a few taps with a soft mallet or block of wood.
I can't recall the bolt torque, but it's lower than you...
