    Ritchey catalogs

There’s some old versions of the ritchey webpage on archive.org - the 1999 page on the Plexus is interesting. Found this picture on a odd Japanese webpage of the mt cross whit a sloping seat stay the same frame is on the 2001 version of Ritcheylogic.com

That’s a really interesting bike - would love to find one some day! There are a lot of late nineties hybrid bikes, but very few high end hybrids. I have owned two Swiss cross - is definitely a full blooded cross bike, the 2000’ish model doesn’t take much more than 33mm tires with proper clearance!

Thanks! that’s great - do you have the brochure? if so can I get you to take a close up of the plexus part? That mount cross sounds super interesting- a 2000 gravel bike? Do you have a image of the frame?

Rohloff 500/14 QR Questions / wheel build

FYI, the Rollhoff manual says that on small wheels (under 26") the spokes should not cross the flange bolts - for me this is just a general rule and I never do it.

    Cantilever Brake Masterclass

If you fell like going deep, Keith Bontrager has a very long rant on v-brakes including details on why you don't need them and how to make your cantis rule supreme! V Brakes - the best brake in the universe! (Sheldon would be proud!)

    Bontrager OR -1995/1996

Looks really great! I think I like the bontrager post and stem maybe (90mm🥰) - but benjabbi’s right it’s about what fits! You are gonna run the shifters friction or try to set it up 10sp? I don’t know the Paul shifter but my guess is it will work just fine - it matches shimano 8sp right? So...

    Bontrager OR -1995/1996

That’s the first 90mm I see! Amazing! What handlebars are you running? Would be impossible for me to resist putting something wider on! Like some simworks or ti’s

    Bontrager OR -1995/1996

Coming together nicely! A silver Tange or CK would look neat or a black one😎. I would skip the ano brake pads and keep the chain rings or even better find some nice black ones (know I’m slightly conservative) How short is that stem? I been looking for a short one for ages, ended up concluding...

    Bontrager OR -1995/1996

A nice bike you got there! For me bontrager screams not bull shit - so tune would be great. I think coloured parts should be kept at a minimum, so maybe blue hubs would be too much (the levers are great)

    Bontrager privateer 1996

I'm trying to find good information about the Privateer forks, but it seams hard. Been writing a bunch of guys here, to get some measurements but thy don't seam to be very popular, most retrobikes have replaced them whit suspension :) The two mane questions is what’s the rake and A-to-C...

No, not personally, just talk with him about bike stuff - seams like he have a huge Kona collection, think he had around 10 frames for sale over the last years.
