The Trek that nobody wanted landed on my doorstep last night...(cheers MikeC)

Anyway, here it is in all its purpelnessness.

Original air/oil Trek forks

Lots to do, feel free to point and laugh

drivetrain is a mix of XT and early LX at present, got some DX levers and Thumbies to fit later.

That shock looks like it could be easily replaced whilst retaining the cable guide for the rear brake.

Like I say, point and laugh...

Makes me feel sea sick just looking at it. Nought wrong with a bike no-one else likes. Just makes yours more special. Hey, I like Parkpre's, don't care what anyone else thinks about them.

I wasn't laughing when I landed these two for under $200. One had a full XTR build. The Risse shock actually made it alot better than the elastomers but the elastomers were fun! I could bunny hop that thing and bounce along all day.

:) This is very nice, I dont generally like treks due to owning one in the 1990's which was a stinker.

But this looks very nice LF.

BTW Why are the comments so negative on this, I have never ridden a full sup trek, so have no idea how they ride,

Little or no damping in its current form. Trek as company? I dont know, I have no problem with them but then I've never owned a Klein

I thought these looked 8) and still do. Wonder if they pogo as much as everyone says? Also heard the rear end was a bit floppy side to side as well due to the pivot.

Carl.

I did tinker with the idea of getting one of these and kitting it out with the worst componests of all time.
Start with the Scott fork (the loweres used to come right off)
Browning trans (electric pie shifting)
Carumba crank (snap)
Action Tech Ti axle (comes loose after two rides)
White Spike tires (squirmmy and disappear)
Tioga disc rear (sensitive noisy bad in gentle wind)
Nuke hubs (crack and delaminate)

they dont bounce as much as people think.they take a little time to get used to the pedal feedback but when blasting downhill at last years BDW it felt as good as my modern goose :D

mine may be up for sale real soon as i need the money for nappies etc :?
