Probably posted this in the wrong section so feel free to move it, new to forum so thought a greeting was appropriate I'm Steve I'm thirty one and a full time soldier been on two wheels of every kind from the age of three, I usually hoon around and even commute on a steel framed bmx but we have just moved to a new apartment and the misses says I need to not look like I steal phones for a living, my current ride is WTP KH01 it's a heavy bit of kit but bomb proof and handles well after a lot of abuse I ride a mix of street and dirt so anything goes for me but I am leaning more towards a hard tail now so that I can hit the trails and go up to north Wales to ride with my brother, not sure what else you guys will be interested in so I'm going to stay solo until I find a decent group of people to ride with in the tunbridge wells area.
Cheers steve

Welcome :)

There are a few meets here and there not too far from you (Leith Hill, Bedgebury), good luck getting the Hardtail and enjoy that. North Wales is a great place to bike but there is also a lot closer to home for you that you would enjoy. I have not ventured much around Tun Wells but there must be plenty of biking around that area too.

Plus there is a BMX section, I believe they have a London meet every now and then, so plenty to be joining in with if you wish!

Enjoy the site.

Hello!

When you say you are a full time soldier and use a bmx to commute, I have the image of someone charging headlong at the taliban on a bmx!

Enjoy the forum!

crikey, the last time i was up at 1:59am.....nevermind.
welcome to Retrobike - i read you have a GT Tequesta, there are plenty of reno threads for GTs on here, check the ---->1997 readers bikes for some build thread inspiration and make sure you have some money saved before venturing into the for sale sections....
as for rides, i've only been on a few retrobike rides - all of which have been superb though. keep your eye out though, the weather's drying up and i'm guessing there'll be a flurry of rides organised soon.
:)

cheers for the welcome fellas advice will be taken on board with regards to buying parts for the rebuild, got myself a rear quick release and spindle today off a mate at the local bike shop will update the build thread.
