Hi guys,
Here are a few pics of my first ever build - a 1979 'Les Reed' Autograph Holdsworth. My father in-law had it residing in his shed for 20 years and it was in a bit of a state. I have had the frame enamel stove baked white (it's original colour), replaced BB, wheels and headset and basically restored as best I could all the other original parts + a few rogues. I know the tires are a 'no go' for most of you but I quite like 'em! You will see how low the seatpost is as sadly, as much as I would love to grow a few inches taller, the frame is way too big. Not sure what I will do yet, probably sell to the jolly green giant! Be keen to hear what you think,

Nice build that. The mix of components all look right and it is obviously very clean.

The tyres are ok but personally I would have gone for all blacks as I think it would have tied in with the saddle and bar tape just perfectly.

Good job. I presume there are a fair few to follow...

Indeed it is Jim, my fault. What with that and posting a header '78 Holdsworth' and then stating a '79 Holdsworth' in the first paragraph, I just hope it rides better than I write!

Les West - great bloke and still racing (and winning) in Vets events. Rode for Holdsworth as a pro for years in the 60's and 70's.

Bike looks good, pity it's a bit big for you but people did tend to ride big frames in those days so reasanbly in keeping with the period.

Are those genuine Black Campag brake lever rubbers? If so, where did you get them (Campyonly?). I've got one and need another!
