Raleigh Road Ace 1982 first ride, first build, new love

I first fell in love with the 600AX groupset, then looked for a frame to suit it. I got this 531c frame some time ago but just had time to get it built up.

So here we have the Raleigh Road Ace. My previous ride was a Nigel Dean, this is so different. I've always loved riding but now I love my bike.

Excuse the tape holding the pump and none period bottle cage.

It runs so smooth it is pleasure to be on. Even at 40mph down from Harewood it felt secure even on it's 28yr old tyres.

The average was quicker than that shown at 15mph

I have a Norta Aero F16 with a complete Shimano Adamas AX group set. Love riding it. I am also a Shimano AX fan. I have a mix of 600 and dura ace AX complete group set waiting for a suitable frame to build up.

Thinking about sticking it on a Merckx or Moser when the right one comes along.

I've also got just about another full groupset, looking to fit it to thisSR aero I'm sure it is Tange Aero tubing, how similar is it to your Norta ?
