Was at the LBS this afternoon and the owner's son and I were talking about what to do with all the stuff in the 5 storage containers they have at the U-Store place around the corner. It was slow later in the afternoon, so he asked if I wanted to go over and have a look at some of the stuff that was in there.

Uh, I'm goin' in. You better slap a transponder on me.

I was standing on a bin and a shelf trying to get to the Contis in container #1, slipped, and fell, tweaking my (bad) back a bit. Found quite a bit of stuff in #1-#4. #5 was mostly ski stuff, and a bit of a bust. Picked a few things here and there that were at hand (most of it is well buried). Could have grabbed more, but I didn't want to be a Gannet (no idea what that is, just that my mother used the term), and it was effin hot inside the containers. Plenty of time once we formulate a plan in the fall when it's cooler.

Re:

Cool 8) bet there's loads more stuff hidden in there, a retro goldmine.

A Gannet is a sea bird....
The gannet's supposed capacity for eating large quantities of fish has led to "gannet" becoming a disapproving description of somebody who eats excessively, similar to "glutton".
In many parts of the United Kingdom, the term "gannet" is used to refer to people who steadily eat vast quantities of food especially at public functions.

although it could equally apply to those who consume vast quantities of retro MTB parts

cool stuff, nothing like an adventure,

if you ever fancy selling the helmet id be intersted.

:D

It's a M and has some scrapes/scratches, but I wanted a black one for myself. There's 4 more L (3 white and a blue) and a white M that I saw on the shelf in the container they're in. I'm pretty sure there's a half dozen more in there somewhere.

I'd be interested in one of the Edge helmets too... M or L would be good and if there happened to be a chin guard then that would be even better!
