Tushingham B52

Karate kid

Retro Newbie
I have been reading the forums about Tushingham B52's I brought one of these in the late 80's early 90's and have kept it in excellent original condition, the bike still has the original grips, the only thing at the moment I have done is swopped the seat over for a gel seat, the original is perfect and in my garage.

I will put some photos of it on the site tomorrow, but just wanted to know if anyone knew how much they are worth now.

Hopefully someone can help. :D

Re:

Hello and welcome... There's a special part of the forum for valuations (see above). Maybe someone will move this post.
However, always nice to read about a bike which has been owned from new, and you'll be aware that the interest somewhat comes from a link to Orange bikes. I'm not sure value is easy on these, it depends on condition of course
I'd be interested to see some pictures, and hear more detail, as will others!
Cheers,
Mat

Re:

Welcome to the forum.

Nice to hear you have an original bike from BITD; like most mtbs (with one or two exceptions), even original bikes are not worth a huge amount financially, but they do have a significant part to play in signposting the progression of home grown off road bikes from that period.

Try a photo in the How Much is it Worth section, also do a search for the British Steel thread, and see what people have said about Tushingham's there. You might also try dropping a PM to sinnerman and coleman, they both have a good knowledge of British bikes from that era.

Are you looking to sell? (I hope not) Or just looking for an idea of the bikes worth? Either way, you have a relatively rare bike and a piece of history.

Re:

that looks really nice, i seem to remember one of these in original but battered used condition went for a bout £200 so this should be a fair bit more but that said it's also a case of what someone would pay.

Re:

Nice condition, and interesting that your one has the U-brake on the chainstays. Also, is that the alloy stem? Some of the other ones around have the U-brake on the seat stays and a steel stem.

As a matter of interest, does it have a sticker for the tubeset? Tange MTB butted tubes? Or triple butted?
Do you have a pic of it?

Cheers,
Andrew

Re:

There should be a sticker on it somewhere, like this:
