Wheelset split

Would I get more money if I sell the rims and hubs seperately? It seems a terrible shame to break them down but....

Oh yeah, they're White Industries Tracker (front) & Phantom (rear) laced to some Mavic 117 SUP's which still have plenty of life in them yet.

Re:

I would say try and sell them complete. IMO you'll get more interest that way as a lot of folk can't build wheels so will be put off because of the cost of paying someone to rebuild them.

Re:

Thanks Adrian, I was hoping someone would say that. Next question.... What are they worth? I saw a set of hubs go on eBay last week for £100 and I don't think they were the Ti versions (mine are).

Re:

Just to offer a different experience,

Last year I picked up a wheel set with some gorgeous Phil Wood hubs. I offered them as a pair of wheels but had no takers.

Once I split them from the rims, polished them up, and put them on ebay, I got the same price as I was asking for them as wheels. Plus they were much easier to ship!. . . . . that being said, the Campag rims weren't brilliant.

Whilst Raidan is right that you will put some people off, I think that the people after hubs like this may prefer to have their own built.

Those WI hubs are super nice and have to be worth over £100 depending on condition and presentation. If you offer international shipping to cover the German and American markets you will maximise your chances of the best price.

Re:

A good point also. I guess that comparable quality rims and hubs and similar condition would be best kept together but if either the condition or quality of one or the other is poor/low then a split would be better.
