WTD: 80mm forks for a 95 Zaskar

Devout Dirtbag
Currently using triple butted P2's but decided on getting sus up front. 80mm is the max I can use without the bike being too bargey.

Was looking at second hand SID's but people on another forum say they are "too" flexy and unreliable. Which made me think - why do XCers use them? Surely they cant be that bad.

Anyway, the general consensus of opinion was something like Reba SL's @ 80mm would be fine.

I'm currently also using Arch Rival V's and will need forks with V brake bosses. However, I do plan on putting an A2Z adapter on the back and getting discs before summer, so I need post mounts and v brake bosses to future proof.

Just wondered if anyone here had something light, reliable and sub £180 that might suit my bike.

1 1/8 ahead 220mm steerer. manitou axle forks, 80mm travel, V brake & disc brake mounts. barely used, superb condition with only v.minimal cosmetic marking. with lockout. £40posted

Hi Scant, cheers for the pics and info.

Couple of q's. Any idea of the weight of them? Reason being, most of the forks I've looked at have either been too heavy (4lbs+) or too light ( a la SID's). trying to keep the bike as balanced as i can without spending ridiculous cash.

Have the forks ever been serviced - if so, how recently?

Ta muchly.

sorry dude, already sold.

Got some Fox Float RL, currently set at 100mm, but can insert the spacer which i removed to lower to 80mm.
Rebound and lockout, all working with no air loss, but not the best looking cosmetically
V and Disc compatible, would come with a bottle of Fox Fluid and new unopened packet of spare seals.
Also got a nearly new shock pump if required.
Not thought about price, but good bit less than 180 quid, let me know if they are of interest and we can go from there
Steerer is 185-190 ish

Hi Huntso

Currently using 220mm forks with 1cm spacers above and below the stem.

They sound great, but the steerer is just a fraction too short.

Thanks all the same.

I think I may have some forks sorted anyway. Recon's @80mm with a 210mm steerer for 150. They're brand new and straight off a Giant Anthem

Ta tho.
