Researching for age/details for my Diamant, I came across this bad boy...

Are there any elements of road bike pimpage tastier than this wishbone stay? Thoughts? I'm guessing it has the same structural properties as the normal configuration, so why do we see this sexy stay format so rarely?
 
Personally I've never liked this! Looks like a pair of front forks have been bodged on!

It may be a little dirty - a little wrong, perhaps - but that's part of the frisson!

no, nothings been bodged, just looks too much a like a cinelli crown in there.

it might be me, being a heavier rider, I like beefed up rear ends. Anything else looks like I'm gonna tear it to pieces.
I'm one of very few people who isnt keen on cervelos with their pencil stays - I like meat at the back ... oo er missus

Back to the Diamant it looks niceish but confused why it has brake cable clamps on the top tube!
