Orange Clockwork FINISHED 99.9% Anyway.

Here’s the next one I’m having a go at. Going to paint this one so any tips on the actual orange / white colours fire away. It’s a right wreck, handlebar stem seized in, headset bearings want sorting, the freehub bearing cover is on the outside of the cassette not inside the freehub 🤣. It’s mostly m550 but cockpit has been swiped. Components and wheels look to be ok as long as that rear just want assembling properly. Saddle isn’t ripped.. I’ve got some more hubs anyway the same so no worries there. It has all new cables but I think they must have thought f* this in the end.

Well the paint is off. In between my lads football, dinner, and walking the dog. Twice. Been in contact with the decal guy in the forum so that’s good. I’m going to paint orange and white I reckon. Then sticker up with these attached. 1990 I think it is with some help from other members, the forks say 90 -10 on them too, so maybe that backs it up. Unless the steerer is 90mm, can’t block at it again today. I’ll check tomorrow. Probably clean some of the bits up I’ve got next week and see what I need.

Usually means 1990 Oct, so puts it in the 1991 model year.

Early times for Orange so they evolved as batches came in, so matches the frame and component date stamps.

Hi the spray max can says klarlack , I presume that's German for clear coat over the top of your primer/top coat ?. It will be interesting to see how this turns out fingers crossed for a good result .

Yes clear coat that is. I’m hoping it will turn out ok. It’s a 2 component acrylic resin and the paint is acrylic so fingers crossed they’ll get along. We will soon see!

Got some primer on seeing though it’s a nice day. I’ve not sprayed a frame for at least 30 years but no cursing. Let’s hope the paint goes on as nice🤞🏻
