The "I'm not doing so well" thread

CAM boot and crutches. Ruptured Achilles tendon suspected. And it's prime riding season. ☹️ ☹️ ☹️
Oh no! Don’t know you bud but I feel for you - I’m just over a year since the boot came off after a ruptured Achilles. My legs are almost the same size again! If you need any info tips and tricks drop me a PM!

Life update......

Left education, I loved the actual job but the people, politics, dick swinging and lying, mixed with playing piggy in the middle and being on less money than new lecturers with less experience and qualifications led to me inadvertently handing in my notice mid March. Luckilynivw some very good friends with people in places and I'm now in a job that's got very little stress compared to being a college lecturer, sure there's it's own issues and frustrations but overall and with time I now feel so much more chilled and happier. Its still taking some adjustments mentally and emotionally and although my monthly income has gone down, but not by much tbh, the 100 quid a month difference has made me less anxious about stuff. I'm more in control of me, and have refound some motivation for tinkering and doing stuff.

Moral here is, keep going, if you can change anything that may or will help you, go for it. The initial jumpers scary as hell but not long afterwards a new sense of direction and ambition is just enough to keep you going over the edge, IMHO.

one love xxxx

Chris

What subject(s) did you used to lecture?

I've just started properly college lecturing (been supply there for over a year), so much easier than Secondary School teaching.
Saying that I have nice colleagues and department around me. It's so relaxed... at the moment.

The only downside is that I can get to your house, Chris, in the same time it takes me to get to the centre of town (or out) from/to my house less then 5 miles away in the outskirts. Down almost one long road.
The bike may be coming out for commuting, it's just not quite as safe as it used to be in the 90s. I've seen so many close misses and there's been a few fatal along the route over the years.
