Re: I am such a fool. A couple years ago I stuck this plastic washer from a cassette in there cos I couldnt locate the crown race, and wanted to hang the frame and forks on the wall, without damaging the headset. It all came to to me all of a sudden. Old age eh. Thanks for the help anyway!

Well it's been a long time without posting for myself, but the retro-bug has been floating around this winter, and caught me again :D . Been catching up with a couple years of great bikes posted here - the site is huge! So I am rebuilding a bike. It has a not so old headset, King circa 2010...

Actually, that bit might be in there now, and it is by removing it that you set the travel to 100mm - I can't remember! Will try find out ..

It's 100mm. There's a small plastic part that can be inserted in for that, I may still have it - will have a look.

Both forks are back today from a service at Bromleybike (full strip down, oil replaced, new seals) after having been unused for 2-3 years. They have had light xc use by a 58kg rider who doesn't do jumps! Fitted with star-fangled nut. First set to sell will come with a brand new shock pump...

Bump, I'm keeping the clamp as it's nice (took it out of the plastic to have a peek!), so just the FRM stem left .. now reduced to £17.50 posted to UK
