...here's an idea: commission an hour-long programme then instead of making an hour-long pogramme spend the last ten minutes of it telling us how it was made. This makes the hour-long programme both fascinating/informative AS WELL AS tedious and hateful.Well done.

Re:

Ah, I see that you also watched the documentary about New Zealand, Mullinino.

The documentary was good -- but the 10 minutes of "how it was filmed" was just boring filler that gave the film-makers an opportunity to congratulate themselves.

I muted the telly to look for the island inhabited by the marching penguins on Google maps. When I looked up again, the programme had changed to a "comedy" about Brexit.

It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't forced to pay for this shite.

Re:

At least they just messed the end up and you could turn over.

Try the other channels where every 5mins they spend a minute telling what you've already watched, then again a few mins after and advert just incase you have forgotten.
Making any of the interesting bits 15 mins in total even though you know they could have had more.

The reason for the bit at the end is that these programs are sold world wide so they only run for 45 to 50 minutes or so to fit in the advert breaks. The extra at the end is for the UK where, thankfully, we dont have advertising on the BBC just yet.

So, please stop whining and just accept thats how things are and if the BBC disappears altogether, Dave will be a perfect example of how ALL broadcast television will end up if it hasnt already done so: 10 minutes of content with 20 minutes of adverts per hour.

*I have my works appraisal today which explains why I'm such a tetchy **** this morning.
