C-Record Build - A Quick Poll

I've currently got a full C-Record groupset (Delta brakes) sat in my loft whilst I wait for the right frame to come along, in the right size, at the right price (it's easy to get two out of three requirements, but not three!).

So, here's the question, which pro teams used this groupset & which one should I build if I can get my hands on one......

1) Raleigh Castorama (I sold my ex Thierry Marie frame and regret it immensely)
2) PDM Concorde (Sean Kelly is a king)
3) Lemond Ventoux (steel not TVT)
4) Superconfex Colnago
5) Carrera Battaglin (Roche's triple!!)

They're the ones off the top of my head, which other builds are out there that I haven't considered!

Cheers

I have a team issue PDM Concorde that is the same size as what Kelly would have ridden. I was out on it earlier in its semi-modern guise with downtube shifters, Chorus Monoplaners and Centaur Compact alloy drivetrain

How about you donate the groupset to me and I build a PDM Concorde with it? :P

Only my opinion Matt
I would go for something very unusual.
The PDM concorde is very common bike & easy to obtain, this is mine. https://www.dropbox.com/home/My%20Bikes ... %20Squadra
The Carrera Battaglin (Roche's triple!!) There are a few of these about ( I have a Low pro One)

Now the Superconflex Colnagos in my opinion are the most desirable BUT are like rocking horse shite & Very Very difficult to get hold of in the Green lattice work paint job. (The Red & Blue ones turn up fairly regularly)
It took me years to get hold of the Green/White Superconflex Colnagos that I have. https://www.dropbox.com/home/My%20Bikes ... perconflex
NB it has the wrong rims & seat post fitted at the time I took the photos

I now also have a Low Pro Superconflex Colnago as well, that’s been waiting for months to be finished as I can’t find a pair of Cinelli LA 84 Low Pro bars to complete the build.

Merckx Panasonic 1986 quite desirable IMHO
Colnago Panasonic??
I have a idea that they rode Colnago’s for one year if so I think that would be very well worth building.
I also have the Low Pro version of the Merckx Panasonic, again waiting for another pair of Cinelli LA-84 Low Pro Bars & then its finished.
All that said a lot of pro teams were using C-Record in the late 80’s -90s.

I hope that’s of some help to you Matt? Good luck with whatever you decide to build.
I now sit back & wait to be shot down
Chris

PS ….If anyone has any La-84 Bars they want to sell please let me know.

Errrr, let me think about that for a moment.....!!!!!

I like the idea of a legends bike to be honets!!

Would love to get hold of a Lemond, I've heard nothing but good things about the Billato frames.

Cheers

Although looks like they won't send to the UK.

it Looks good, very very good, A respray me thinks, mind you I could be wrong.
the green some how dosen't look correct to me. Not dark enough & both of mine have a faint sort of metallic tint to the Green.
