Thanks Retro spud, that's a help to unravel the mystery.
Attached Pic of the other side for interest, it's a Rudge badge but now we have a connection to Fuji I can dig a little deeper.
Interestingly that timeline on the Fuji website shows a Rudge bicycle on the 1935 bit, the hand on the chainwheel is visible in the pic.
I'll add up any more info as I come across it.

However Google seems to favour it being Chinese over Japanese as the first suggestion is as per screenshot below

I’m off to Tokyo next week so pretty sure when I see them I’ll get asked more than few questions about this if anything else comes up I’ll let yah know

Thanks spud, not had much time on this today as been working till late. The Japanese google translation would tie up with what it said on the Fuji website.

Also I've just found this !

That’s spot on ^^ and like you said confirms the translate of kanji into European is Nichibei Shoten LTD
And also ties in the hand logo !
