Looking for recommendations where can I get Fork steerer tube replaced in UK and what sort of money am I looking to spend? Got a French standard one with slightly damaged top of steerer threads + there's only 5mm of thread anyway so thinking of replacing the whole steerer. Is there a way to do it that doesn't damage the paint work? Many thanks for any help
You will need a framebuilder - essentially they have to melt the braze and remove the old steerer, then fit a new one. Alternatively, some might remove the top of the steerer and braze on a new extension. In this second case you will probably not have to repaint.
