Saved from the tip after finding this site. Big dint in top tube after crash early on in its' life, the only way I could repair it without gallons of filler was to cut the head off, push out the damage and re weld it : work in progress!

There seems to be quite a few of these on the forum now. I'm sure the dent wouldn't hurt it structuraly as they are built like bomb shelters. i had one from almost new, warranty return as it had a crack from the welding hole on the horizontal tube from seat tube to down tube, crack never has got any worse

Good luck with the restoration

Thanks for the feedback, you are right about the damage, I abused it for over ten years after it happened. If you let go of the bars though, it was one cheek on and one cheek off the seat to keep it tracking straight.
It was a major dint affecting line of top tube and wheel alignment: it had to go. I always spin the bars now after any build to make sure of clearance between top tube and bar ends/levers as that was the cause.
