Re: Lairy Marin build

Just for now, I have trial fitted some Manitou forks and Spinergy wheels, and I'm quite happy with that look, also have a 3dv Ringle Moby for it. I'm still deciding the rest of the spec, but I have some very bad taste stuff to choose from.

LOTS of polishing to do, where did I leave the Autosol.

I don't think I'm going to ride it! it Will break.

I'm probably going to ride the Dawes for Mayhem. Really been enjoying it recently.

Yeah I regret riding the Manitou at Mayhem as I bust that and it wasn’t even racing when I did it

So I've had a bit of a polishing session, trying to get it looking its best without removing any of its history.

Looking far too sensible, I thought I would try out a 3dv Ringle Moby with a blue suede Turbo.

Re:

Blimey....bit of a blast from the past. Considering your location I reckon this could be my old frame which I had about 1999! I recall putting an animal sticker on the seat tube. I did a swap @ Oakley Cycles in Rushden For a Kona AA frame :D

Hi, this frame has quite a lot of history relating to Oakley Cycles so that would fit!
Have you got any photos of it back in the day? That would be awesome?

Martin, it's definitely your old frame, Jon's dad picked it up from Oakley Cycles years ago apparently, now James is building it up. Yes, it was a blast from the past when I saw it, getting on 20 years since I'd even thought about it :D
James, I might have a photo of it built somewhere, The cupboard over the sink in Oakleys workshop was covered in pictures of the bikes we built, I have those photo's somewhere, I'll see if I can dig them out.
