I realise that this is now after the fact but on 18th October 2006 Elev12k and I met up, I got to view part of his very impressice collection and then we went for a ride at Schoorl on the coast about 30kms above Amsterdam (many thanks for the loan of the bike!).

Schoorl is in the sand dunes which makes for a different riding experience and there is some great single track through the trees. We did 14k offroad but I'm sure that it would be possible to do more by retracing steps at some points.

Would recommend Schoorl to anyone going to Holland and fancying a ride.

Hi Ed,

It was very nice to meet you 'live'. I must visit UK once, hopefully soon. Trails there must be good too :D

A stop halfway the trail. Thumbs up :D

The trail in the dunes is of course much sandier then most of the trails in the UK. No clay in Schoorl. This offers a different riding experience, as Ed already stated. Unlike one would possibly assume with any trail in Holland, the trail is deffo not flat. The highest point is 59m above sea level

I was riding the '91 TerraRunner Carbon that is normally in use by my father. Ed experienced the magic ride of a '88 bike. He rode the ValleyRunner.
