Soooooo, where to start!
Long story with this one, but basically I bought this frame from eBay last spring and it's been stored ever since as I work abroad and only get home 3-4 times a year. As these times are frequently busy I usually never get time to do much bike tinkering short of a few hours XC with a mate. This time however I'm looking to build this up and get out and ride it a few times before I head back to work.
I don't know a lot about Paul himself, however I remember the status him and his frames had as I was raised in Middlesbrough and recall seeing the occasional frame about and saw one in a shop who's name escapes me at this time which sealed a memory for me. So this is where the idea was born about owning one, when this one cropped up it was too much to miss! Sorry for the piss poor picture, I forgot to take more and the ones from the listing I forgot to save!
I have had the packaging open before I stored it and the frame is decent except for some chips and marks (to be expected), and it's remarkably light too, the frame itself weighs just 1.2-1.3kg which is pretty decent for steel I reckon.
So I'm going to leave it as is I reckon but need to clean up the paintwork a little, any ideas on what to use? Also can anyone help with a potential year? It has an Aheadset in it already but regret not measuring the headset/tubes as I'm struggling to get a couple of parts now due to not knowing if it has a 1" threadless or 1 1/8", plus I'm clueless as to what seatpost diameter I need also, fool I am!! Any ideas as to Reynolds 631 seat tube sizing?
Lastly, is it worth spraying some kind of frame protector inside to keep it safe? I remember JP Wiegle is recommended however I'm struggling to get some due to it being difficult to ship.
Any info or advice would be very gratefully received, thanks in advance!
