Period correct shifting options

I think you can still get microshift and sunrace thumbies. They're modern, work well and don't look too out of place

Re:

XT M737/8/9? separately mounted shifters are a good option - that's what I ran on mine for a long while. Now attached to my Cadex if you want to see what they look like - check my signature :)

Granted not exactly period correct...

Well, I’ve just picked up a set of m900 pods for £33. I’m loathed to pay more for the clamps than the shifters, so if anybody knows of any for a reasonable price let me know please! Only needs to be average condition

There are m900 pod clamps from magura that often pop up for sale for 10 or 12 quid. I saw another brand that were the same style recently but forget where (on here most likely). X-lite did some, nice but a but more £, then you get into the realms of bling boutique moonhead which seem to sell for a couple of hundred for reasons unknown to me.

Personally I'd have gone with xt m739/40 as I think they just work and feel better than m900.

You can also do the STX shifter mount conversion, couple of threads on here explaining. I have a set for sale if you fancy doing it yourself.

Even STX work better than M900.
The 'XT' 080 singles use a better mechanism iirc, must crack mine open to double check).

But I'd have gone SRT500R with metal spring upgrade or modernised to SRT600 GripShift.

Else gone really modern with Sachs Wavey/Neo
