Enlighten me. How does it work ok so it presumably dissolves rust but surely it leaves bright steel that is going to rust again.

Indeed, it's just a rust remover but not a protection.

You can neutralize it with custard.

New to all this, but I have tried the following in the past few days.

Coca cola "good" 3 days soak
White Vineger "very good" 2/3 day soak
Amazingly sprinkle some water on the rust then rub with tinfoil, cleans up well.
Also Autosol Metal Polish

Think i will be trying Oxalic acid! : ) thanks for tip

Effectivly same stuff but pre mixed and bring nuts/bolts up a treat.

This stuffs the daddy, I swear by it.
As a bonus it also leaves behind a passivate layer on steel so it won't rust again for a while.

Looks good. Think I'll be using this in my sink plugholes too.
