Spoke nipple washers?

I am fitting butted spokes and alloy nipples to my original wheel set, when searching the tinternet I have seen brass spoke washers advertised and don't know if I need to fit them or not. The rims are both fitted with eyelets and thought I could fit the alloy nipples straight to the rims.
Any advice would be welcomed, not sure what to do. :?

they dont o at the nipple end mate they go on the spoke at the head between the hub flange and the spoke head as to fill the gap and bend into place they make for a really good wheel as there is zero play in the hub flange as the spokes bend/flex under load 8) 8)

Cool....never entered my head that they would go at the other end of the spoke.
Thanks for the info, I don't think I'll need any as the flange on the hub is quite thick, (a bit like myself) :D
