Didn’t Sheldon Brown do something like this with a Sturmey Archer hub decades ago? He ended up with something like 105 gears!

Could always try it with an ebike so you have the switch gear for the motor too on the bars

I like the idea, and it's now available on production bikes but I can't find any information on the weight of the hub, only their specific cassette starting at around 170g .
