And here is Trimble's recumbent time trial version:

Iseem to remember Giant making another one in the early '90s , that looked even more hideous than the one above . They challenged cyclists to buy it even more by painting it yellow red and purple ! Still saw a few on the local tt circuit though
Mike

Found it !

Only made worse by the Giant colour scheme IMO

I knew I had an equally appalling bike in the brochure collection, I give you the Tommasini Carbon Velocista:

OMG

That takes the gong , I could only look for a split second , as my eyes started to well up !
Honestly didn't realise that a bike frame could be this ugly . Whoever designed it should be confined to a padded cell for life !

...and the poop brown paint job as a final touch...

Quite apt IMO !
And it's Italian too , home of Colnago , Bianchi , Moser et al .
'80s Tommasini frames looked good , so where did it all go wrong ?
Mike

Surveying brochures from this time period, late 80s, it seems all of the venerable Italian builders felt like they had to offer a carbon bike regardless of the outcome. Early Colnago attempts were not much better...

I have to admit , I have a soft spot for a steel frame with a fancy paint job , although my pockets arent deep enough to own one

The form of that Colnago looks like the majority of moderns to me. That doesn't make it any less butt ugly mind.
