Tyre Global Measurement System?

Perhaps a really silly question but it is early Sunday Morning.

What width would my tyres be in inches if it says 44/50?

I currently have some WTB velociraptors on my bike of which they use their own measurement system. I am guessing 1.95? But really I have no idea.

I have looked for a way of calculating online but can't see anything. Anyone any ideas on here?

First Number = Width of casing
Second Number = Width of tread.

both in mm

oh and to add, assuming 20mm rim and 60PSI...



but looking at this

Susprisingly, even bike tyres fall under the same legislation as car tyres. Rim and tyre size measuremnts are governed by the rules set by ETRTO.
