Wanted Wanted: 1998 Rockhopper 30.4mm Seatpost

Hi,

I was forced to saw the top off a seized seatpost from my 1998 Specialized Rockhopper FS.
If anyone has a spare from the same model, or is breaking the above model, please let me know.
I believe the diameter is 30.4mm, and were probably used on Specialized Hardrocks too (Ritchey Nitanium frames).

I have an original from an M2 Stumpjumper that is a 30.9, and its available too if it suits you.

Would this be the size and not a 30.4?

Hey, that is a nice looking seatpost. Unfortunately the Hardrock/Rockhoppers with the steel (nitanium) frame in the late nineties had a non-standard 30.4mm diameter.

Thanks slackboy. Will resort to the Kalloy one if I can't get hold of an original, keen to keep it OEM so will give it a week and see if anything turns up.

I do have a spare OEM 30.4 from either a 1998 Rockhopper or a 95 or 96 Stumpjumper.

Is that the one in your last picture? It looks way too fancy to have ever resided in a RH! How much are you looking for? I don't think I have enough posts to DM.

The 95 and 96 steel rigid Stumpjumpers and 1998 rigid Rockhopper Nitanium all had the same seat post - was probably on other bikes in the range too but I have had all 3 myself over the years so can talk with certainty to that: A 30.4 Tahoma brand seat post as pictured above.

(My first pictures in this post were of a 30.9 from a 1995 M2 frame)

I have the 30.4 as a spare for my Stumpies but would be willing to part with it for £12 plus UK postage.
