1990 Funk pro comp

Hiya , my next project is an early Funk , I reckon it's a 1990 frame due to the welds and cable stops that are on it. I picked this Funk frame up about 4 years ago now from a guy off here. At the time I collected it I had other projects on the go ( you know how it is ) so this just got hung up in the garage. After having it hung up for a year I decided to dust it down and make a start on it , but then I found out the frame had a small crack that I'd missed when I picked it up. The crack was on the chainstay / seatube junction. I managed to get a local fabrication company to weld up the crack. They did a neat job , the bike won't get ridden hard once it's built anyway. After sorting the crack out the frame ended up back hung up in its spot in the garage for another 3 years! Finally the time has come to make another attempt at getting this frame back on the trails !! Anyway here's a few pics to wet your appetite ⬇️

The plan is to get the frame resprayed with either a coloured matched Mag 21 or a rigid fork of some sort. I won't be doing a totally period build , I think this frame would of come with a rigid spinner fork originally.

Re:

Can't beat a good e-Stay build... just hope progress doesn't come in three year cycles

Nice! Let's see more pics of the 'Astral" Funk in the background.

I need to start a thread for the Astral Funk too  ...the bike is built up but there's a few tweaks that I want to do to it. I'll get some pic's up soon !

Apologies for the wait ....what's 5 years between friends
