I remember the Eiger being a Saracan sold by Halfords in the early 90's, although the one I remember was lower spec (like Tange DB and 400LX, sort of like a Tufftrax spec of the time), it maybe the case that in those days the Eiger was a Halfords Saracen and the earlier bikes may have been renamed Kili's.

when i worked in halfords 88 to 91 i remember the saracens sold were all butted frames. i`m guessing its got to be mid to late eighties. i`m going to try and contact my mate who had it before me. haven`t seen him for years so will have to ring around a bit.

When you say butted do you mean lugged? A lot a stuff especially brit steel was lugged back then?

yes sorry lugged, i`m a bit out of touch. i cant remember any saracens on the shop floor with braised tubes whilst i was there.
