What the Funk

Great score with the forks, are you going to match the frame to the fork? and did you ever get a thread up for the beauty in the background? 8)

Four years for the first post and then a five year hiatus - that sounds like one of my builds!

I think I might have let the cat out of the bag, but if it is the one I've seen already then it's very nice 8)

Re:

The frame & fork, another set of forks, stem, handlebars were all sent off to Argos for paint. I wanted something bright and shouty ...I umm'd and arr'd if to go with a splatter effect as well but that didn't happen in the end. A Nos XT 1 1/4 headset was sent too so they could cut the steerer to right height for me. So there has been some proper progress for a change

Here's a pic of it being unwrapped 8)

Loud - like a Funk should be! Also the horizontal two tone fade (I think) is a nod to the Blaze and Twilight paint schemes that were available BITD. 8) 8)

We're you looking for the fork for a long time? I now have three Funk forks; the unicrown and both suspension variants but I would like to complete my collection with the box version. I guess this is more to do with your contacts rather than striking lucky on eBay?

Yeah I managed to pick the box fork up about 4 years ago maybe longer. I'd missed out on a set a few years previously to that though ....think they went for around £750 ......they hardly ever come up! Yes it was a case of who you know, he's a fellow retrobiker. I'd love a Unicrown fork for my purple Funk they look cool 8)

So I decided on a fluorescent yellow to a sort of peachy colour fade. The peach colour didn't exactly turnout the way I wanted it to. But I knew I'd still be happy if it came out orangey. It soo difficult choosing paints ! Here's some pic's that were taken a while back.
